The Potala Palace, winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the 7th century, symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its central role in the traditional administration of Tibet. The complex, comprising the White and Red Palaces with their ancillary buildings, is built on Red Mountain in the centre of Lhasa Valley, at an altitude of 3,700m. Also founded in the 7th century, the Jokhang Temple Monastery is an exceptional Buddhist religious complex. Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama's former summer palace, constructed in the 18th century, is a masterpiece of Tibetan art. The beauty and originality of the architecture of these three sites, their rich ornamentation and harmonious integration in a striking landscape, add to their historic and religious interest.
This list of Tibetan monasteries is a listing of historical and contemporary monasteries in Tibet sorted according to the five principal orders of the Tibetan spiritual traditions that have been recognized by the present Dalai Lama, including monasteries that were within Tibetan borders when extant, or were culturally included within the Tibetan tradition
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival 1350m Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport (TIA). Our (Visit to Tibet Travels and Tours) official representative will be waiting with your name plate and please see the Visit to Tibet board and we will meet and transfer you to hotel. Check in to hotel. In the evening we will collect your Original passport with passport size picture. We help you to fill up the form for Embassy of China in Nepal./ Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing/ guided tour in Kathmandu Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Like the greatest Hindu Temple, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath Stupa biggest of its type. We will prepare Tibet Visa/ Permit on this day and hand over your original passport and Tibet permit/ group visa to you. We will brief you about the tour and check your gear and advice you accordingly.
Day 03: Lhasa 3490 m Drive to airport by private car and fly to Gongar Airport be met by Tibetan guide after immigration transfer to Lhasa (65km) drive to Hotel and check in and rest and easy day or walking around.
Day04: Lhasa Monastery Tour Sightseeing/ tour to Derpung and Sera Monastery.
Day 05: Lhasa Monastery Tour Explore Potala, Norbulinka , Jokhang and Barkor markets
Day 04: Departure From Lhasa you will be transferred to airport and fly to Kathamandu.
