Lahsa Kailash Everest Base Camp TourLhasa in Tibetan Language also means holy Land. It is also called Sunshine Cities around 3,000 hours there is sunlight. The average height of Lhasa is 3600m. Lhasa is the capital of Tibet Autonomous region. The cultural and religious tradition of the Tibetan people that dates back to antiquity is still preserved in Lhasa. The Potala Palace dating back to the 7th century is an architectural masterpiece that was once the political and religious center of Tibet. Literally meaning “place of the gods,” Lhasa and the lives of its inhabitants is highly influenced by Buddhism which lends a serene aura to the city.

Like wise Mt. Kailash (22028 feet) is the holiest pilgrim mountain in the world. In Tibetan language it is called Kang Ringpohe ( a pious mountain). Mt. Kailash lies in remote western part of Tibet. Mount Kailash is the main source of water forming the major rivers Indus , Stulej, Karnali and Brahmaputra. It is believed to be the sacred place of eternal bliss. In front of Kailash lies Holy Lake Mansarovar and Rakshas Tal. The Majestic view of Holy Mount. Kailash can be viewed in crystal clear water of Lake Manasarovar. Hindu People believe that Kailash Parbat is the home of Lord Shiva. Having the ritual bath of Holy Lake Manasarovar water it is believed that the sin we have committed will go away.

We will be Spending 2 nights in Kathmandu to issue Tibet permit. In the mean while you can be busy sightseeing around Kathmandu valey. So, on third day you can fly to Lhasa which is the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. Here you will have guided tour to monasteries and stupas. Then you further continue towards west part of Tibet. It is more rural and people are still nomadic grazing and raring cattle like sheep and Yaks. People are follower of Buddhism and utter matras, rotate prayer wheel and beats. “Chanting Om Mani Padme Hun.” We come across many Tibetan Mani wall and Prayer flag being hung. We come to Lake Manasrarovar where we will have holy bath and homa. We will further continue the Kailash Kora and come back to Kathmandu.


Trip day to day itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival 1350m
Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (TIA). Our (Touch Kailash Travels and Tours) official representative will welcome you to the peaceful himalaya, Nepal holding Touch Kailash Travels and Tours Pvt. Ltd highlighting your name plate. Together we drive to the hotel and check in. In the evening we will collect your Original passport and you need to fill up the form for Embassy of China in Nepal.

Day 02: Sightseeing/ guided tour in Kathmandu
Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. We will prepare Tibet Visa/ Permit on this day and hand over your original passport and Tibet permit/ group visa to you. We will brief you about the tour and check every details o.k for the tour.

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa (3660m)
We will transfer you to Kathmandu airport to fly to Gongar Airport in Lhasa by Air China, the flight duration is 1 hour 10 minutes. The flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa is scenic and beautiful as flight goes over the Himalayan peaks we can view the world highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) and third highest mountain known as Kanchanjunga can be viewed which boarders Nepal and India is specticular and many other snow capped mountain which lies in Nepal and boarders Tibet. It is amazing and astonishing flight. On your arrival to airport in Lhasa our representative will be waiting for you to transfer to Lhasa which is around 65 km. You will have full day rest to acclimatize in high altitude. Tonight we will sleep and rest at Lhasa city in 3660m elevation.

Day: 04 Sightseeing / guided tour in Lhasa.
Sightseeing in Lhasa (3660 m): We visit Sera Monastery which is white-washed walls and golden roof top. Later we will visit Norbulinka Monastery which is the summer Palace of the Dalai Lama. Then we will visit Jokhang Temple which is sacred site for Buddhist people. Today last but not the least we will visit Barkhor Market where we can do shopping for souvenir. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 05 Sightseeing in Lhasa (3660m):
Today we climb stair case of Mar Po Ri Hill to visit to Potala Palace, which Lhasa city is renowned for. It is also the best view point to see Lhasa city. This monument is preserved under UNESCO world heritage site which was build in 17th Century. The interior space of Potala Palace is approximately 1,30,000 square meters where private quarter of the Dalai Lama is also located. Then we go to for the tour to visit Drepung Monastery. It was build on 14th Century where more than 10,000 monks used to reside once upon a time. Buddhist people have great respect on this monastery. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 06 Drive to Gyantse (4332m) -265 km:
Today we follow driving on the renowned Highway in between Lhasa to Kathmandu. It is called Friendship Highway. We come across many ups and downs on the way. We pass Khumba- La (4796m) and by crossing Lake Yamdrok-Tso we reach Samding Monastery. The view to the Lake is turquoise which is deep blue in color. After driving for a while on our left is Mt. Jangsang (6326m) and comes the great pass of the day Kora- La ( Pass) 5012m from here on your right hand side we can see and come across Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7193m) with the majestic view. On the left side we come across Ralung and Lechu monastery. Today’s final pass of today is simu- La (4335m) before we reach Gyantse. This town where we are halting is a beautiful Tibetan village.

Day 07 Sightseeing & drive to Shigatse (3990m) -92km:
Today is the short drive, we visit and bypass many monasteries. Kumbum gives us the homage of 1,00,00 images of Buddhist god and goddess. Gyantse Dzong, a fourteenth century built fort adds an exciting view of entire town Gyantse. Also tour to neighboring Nyang Chu Valley of Shigate is worth visiting. Kubum is a huge gold domed Stupa (chorten) 35 meters high built with several chapel houses. Tibetan Buddhist wall painting is the center of attraction in this Monastery. Before Our journey ahead to Shigatse (the second largest city of Tibet) we come across Shalu Monastery and many Tibetan and Indian style architecture. We stop over night at Sigantse. It is easy and short drive of 90 km today.

Day 08 Drive to Lhatse (3950m), visit Natang and Sakya Monastery en route-194km:
We drive over the sands with a beautiful landscape. We come across Gyamstso- La (Pass). On our drive we visit villages with nomads and important monasteries (Shakya Monastery). We pay homage to monastery. In the library of Shakya the great we find the largest book written in the golden letters./ Overnight at Lhaste

Day 09: Lhatse- Saga- /4450m 250 Km,
Today we will drive upper road that reach Saga. We come across many villages Chawu, Lulung, Dhakulung, Sangsang, Gyatro, Raga Daoban which are very beautiful villages in Tibet. Today we cross Bramhaputra river and also by pass two Lakes Lang Tso and Nigapring Kym Tso. We cross a pass called Tse-La. We pass Chung Riwoche and Kalung Dzong monasteries are on two side of Bramhaputra River. The drive is around 250 km which will take us 6 to 7 hours by Land cruiser. We will come across many Yaks and Sheeps grazing on the nomadic land of Tibet. We will also cross Bhrmaputra river today before reaching typical Tibetan town. The amenities for tourism is good compared to western part i.e. newly build hotels are available./ Overnight at Saga.

Day 10: Saga – Mansarovar 4558 m (277 km)
Today we cross Lake Gung gyu Tso which is at 4622m. Driving to Holy Lake Mansarovar (4560m) is longest driving day as we go kora/Parikrama (going around putting on right hand side.) by Luxury Bus. While circumbulating/ Kora of Holy Lake Manasarovar we come across Seralung Gompa, Nyego Gompa (Ruin), Trugo Gompa (Gelukpa), Gotsuk Gompa and finally hault at Chiu Gompa. As we also will see Holy Mt. Kailash for the first time. You will feel your visit/ tour to Kailash is almost completed. Your dream comes true after having darshan of Mt. Kailash and having holy bath at Manasarovar. Lake Manasarovar is the fresh water lake where Fishes and Swans live together. We will also have view of Mt. Gurula-Mandala and Lake Rakshash Lake./ Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 11: Manasarovar – Darchen (40 km)
We will have holy/ritutal bath and homa/ puja at the bank of Lake Manas in the early morning. We come across the till village called Barkha. Today we will drive to Darchen which is considered as the base camp of Holy Mount Kailash. It is the shortest day to drive for only one and half hour today. On time permission we can visit Chu Gompa. On the side trip paying extra to the driver we can arrange de-tour to Austapad and Trithapuri. Overnight at guesthouse

Day 12: Darchen – Darboche (13 km drive) – Diraphuk (4860 m.) (7 km trek / 5 – 6 hrs)
Today we come across Selung Gompa before reaching Darbochhe which is called valley of Gods. Today we drive for around 13 km from Darchen to Darboche. It is the point our trek/ hike/ Parikrama on foot starts. We can hire horse, horse-man and helper as per your need to make your Yatra/ tour more comfortable. The distance of 7 kilometer of walk/trek/ride from Darboche to Diraphuk will take around 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 13: Diraphuk – Zutul-puk (4760 m) (18 km trek / 9-10 km) (passing through Drollma-La pass 5,630m.)
Today is the hardest day of Kora/ Parikrama or Yatra itself. From Diraphuk we climb up (ascend) till pass Drollma-La (5630m). The ascending (going up) is less difficult than descending (coming down) as all Yatris/ Pilgrim have to walk getting off from the horse. The walk is for about 9 to 10 kilometer on loose stone. It is always good to carry good trekking shoes which protects your ankle at this point. We will visit Gauri Kunda and come across Parvati-stal, we can have far away darshan. We also by pass many caves. It is believed that Milerappa once visited here and perforemed miracles. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 14: Zutul-puk – Darchen (10 km / 4-5 hrs) – Mansarovar - Dongba (end of Kailash Parikrama/Kora)
The Last day of Kailash Parikrama/ Kora is easy walking on beautiful valley. We will walk for about 3 to 4 hours where our Bus will be waiting for us to bring us back to Dongba. We can refill Holy Manasarovar water to take back home. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 15: Drive Dongba to Nyalam (376 km) 7-8 hrs.
Today we will drive in good road for 7 to 8 hour from Dongba to Nyalam. The distance of driving is around 376 Km. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 16: Drive Nyalam to Kathmandu (156 km) 6-7 hrs.
Today again we will finish all formalities at immigration in Tibet and Nepal and will reach Kathmandu in the late afternoon. In the evening after dinner we will have meeting and wants feedback from Yatris to there Holiest and toughest journey in the world. Day 17: Fly back home and stay as long as you wish doing tours/ Yatra in Nepal.
We will take you international airport to fly home or you can join other tour in Nepal.Transfer to airport for your onward flight or continue other pilgrim tour in NepalWe will take you to international airport for your onward flight or you can continue other tour (Yatra) in Nepal.
